Love Island Takeover

Why do you look forward to summer? Is it the bright, late nights? The evening drinks and BBQs? Stepping outside without a jacket into the blazing sun? No matter what brings you happiness in the summer, it can be guaranteed that (along with 90% of the nation) at 9pm almost every night you’ll be on your sofa tuning into Love Island, ready to revel in the all the drama and romance. And if you miss it, you’ll watch it immediately on catch up the next day.

It is what it is…Love Island is unescapable, in 2018 it was the most talked about show and made millions from merchandise and advertising. This year, I Saw It First are the clothes sponsor and we are truly living for what the girls are wearing each night. However much we adore the clothes, we cannot ignore that the rise of fast fashion does have a significant impact on the environment. Renting clothes helps reduce this strain on resources and contributes towards a circular, more environmentally friendly economy. So, we’ve got our in-house stylists to pick some gorgeous outfits based on the girl’s personalities and their looks on the show so far that you can rent too.

Our geordie girl Amber - a fun party girl who knows what she deserves and isn’t afraid to tell people how it is, she is the queen of sass. With her gorgeous glow and tropical vibes, we’d style her in the Rat & Boa Pink Kiki Floral Dress and the Motel Royal blue Sequin Finn Dress.

Anna is like the wise big sister you never had; supportive, wise and won’t take any nonsense from boys. Elegant and sophisticated with a whole lot of sexy is her vibe so we’ve picked the Bardot Mandarin Strapless Midi dress for Anna and the Gorgeous Couture Ivory Jumpsuit to show off her gorgeous curves.

Lucy really encapsulates the cool, effortless beachy style and with her long waves and sun kissed glow she would look brilliant in the Seven Wonders Floral Print Wrap Dress and the Zara Floral Navy and Pink Co-Ord, keeping it cool and casual.

Controversial in the beginning, Maura has truly spiced up the villa and whether you love her or hate her she has stood her ground when it comes to men and shown that sexual confidence doesn’t mean consent. GIRL POWER! We’d dress this queen in our Tobi Green Knot Front Maxi Dress (Luck of the Irish green) and our Lexi Nabila dress in Red (pure sex appeal).

We adore Molly-Mae’s style. A girl who pulls of casual, cute and bold looks she’s not afraid to experiment with looks that are different and daring. We think she’d look amazing in the Jarlo All Over Lace Midi Dress with Ruffle Hem and the Casual Runaway the Label Tan Shirt Playsuit.

Print, texture and embellishment are perfect for girly girl Amy and her theatrical flair.
Throughout the series we’ve seen her dressed in a lot of feminine, pink or sequin style dresses so we think she’d look great in the Gold Sequin Maxi Dress and the Finders keeper’s pink clementine wrap dress to channel her glam barbie vibes.

And of course we have tons of other lush summer looks for you to choose from - view our entire holiday collection here.

Plus we’d love to hear what you think of all the love island antics this year, send us a message on Facebook or tweet us your opinions! @hirestreetuk
